My little family
The truth is this year I have pursued happiness. Happiness is a funny thing, it isn’t promised and it cannot be secured, it can only be pursued. How does one pursue happiness? By doing the things that make you happy. Sunrises and Sunsets come and go, moods change but one can always search to be happy. It is one of our unalienable rights; life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Notice we aren’t promised happiness it is only our right to pursue it. I am happy. It has been a successful year. I hope 2015 is as beautiful as this year has been.
So what things have made me happy?
These two. Motherhood is challenging. It stretches you. I have learned that I love my children most because my time is spent serving them. We have had a wonderful year attending their practices, games , performances, studying, doing homework and playing. There is nothing more challenging nor more gratifying than being a mother to these two exceptional children. When I am most tired and the day feels like it will never end, when all these kids want is for Mom to scratch their backs and I just want to go to bed. I stretch just a little further, love a little more, try and be a better Mom each day. I love these babies of mine with all of my heart.
Nothing excites me more than travel. Travel makes me so happy. I love to explore even if it is just in our beautiful Arizona State. I have been so fortunate to travel to Asia with my Mom who is one of my best friends. What a dream. My kids and I went to California where we soaked up the sun and each other. We camped, we hiked, we enjoyed this beautiful world. The world really is our oyster. 2014 was kind to me when it comes to satisfying my need to get out of dodge.
Friends. What would I do with out these women? We have supported each other through those dark corners only a single parent can understand. We all fit in, we love each other and I count them as one of my greatest blessings. We help each other to be happy. Having them in my life, makes my life happy.
My family. I love these people more than anything. I wouldn’t be doing half as well as I am with out their love, guidance and support. These people make me so happy.
These kids. You can see my toe here I ran the mile with them not long ago during PE. My job brings so much joy. Again, another thing that my heart is poured into brings the biggest dividends. Being a teacher may not pay a lot of money. What it lacks financially is made up in gobs of love. So many special children growing, learning, becoming amazing people.
It has been a beautiful year. It has been filled with love, hard work, and the pursuit of happiness.
XOXO- Be Happy. The Sunny D
